Introduction

The Gigabyte F2A88X-UP4 motherboard is an AMD FM2+ motherboard, supporting the Kaveri as well as Godavari APU’s. This motherboard is a rather robust one, thus assuring users of less flexing which is often caused by very heavy CPU coolers. The F2A88X-UP4 is one of the higher end motherboard offerings from Gigabyte. Needless to say, this motherboard is built for overclocking. The VRMs are cooled efficiently which is important as overheating VRMs always lead to thermal throttling which ultimately results in lowering the performance of the CPU. Something which really stood out was the power, reset and clear CMOS buttons on the motherboard which made work much easier while overclocking and testing the A10-7870K.
